The Phoenix Stroke Club was established in 1979 and is a registered charity affiliated to the Stroke Association. Membership is open to those with any neurological problem but the majority of our members have suffered a stroke and have varying degrees of disability including speech and communication problems.
To ensure the smooth operation of the Phoenix Stroke Club, resolving all day to day issues as they arise and proposing improvements as needed.
To run the Communications Group that runs on a Thursday.
To consolidate the Club’s position as a key provider of “stroke aftercare” services within the Horsham district and surrounding area.
To understand the changes taking place in statutory provision for “stroke aftercare” and to develop appropriate strategies to meet those changes.
To develop new services in conjunction with the Trustees.
To identify sources of funding and prepare grant applications, tender documents and submissions to potential funders.
To work with the Club Supervisor, to delegate appropriate tasks and to supervise that Club Supervisor.
To recruit, manage and support volunteers to assist in the running of the Club and train them in their duties.
The trustees will support the jobholder in this.
