Fixed Term 2 years – Head of Operations – Greater Manchester
Full time- 35 hours a week
We are looking for a Head of Operations to join our Greater Manchester leadership team and lead a ground-breaking new initiative (subject to treasury sign-off) which will see The Prince’s Trust work in partnership with employers to address issues facing youth unemployment by improving productivity gains of a young, resilient and diverse local workforce.
You will play a key role in delivering one of the largest and impactful initiatives in the Prince’s Trust history. Through Future Workforce Fund, business and government are co-investing £14 million into young people from Greater Manchester to give them the confidence and skills to become more prosperous citizens and part of a growing and inclusive economy. Future Workforce Fund will act as a catalyst for change, by encouraging businesses to proactively shape and invest in the programmes and interventions that help to counteract these concerns. The programme will provide a unique opportunity to put employability skills and employers at the centre of each young person’s journey.
Future Workforce Fund will focus on three key strategic themes:
- Live: Developing the personal and social skills of young people
- Learn: Raising aspirations and fulfilling educational potential
- Earn: Equipping young people with skills for work and access to jobs
Recognising young people require different types of support and needing the programme to offer a broad range of tiered interventions to different groups of young people, an approach of test and learn and embracing innovation will be championed. There is a huge opportunity for transformation and leaving a legacy of delivery as part of this programme.
In order to significantly increase the amount of young people who engage with The Prince’s Trust and its partners in Greater Manchester we will run a co-branded, co-designed permanent marketing campaign that utilised digital, out of home and other forms of media.
As our new Head of Operations, you will be based out of our brand-new Centre in the heart of Manchester opening this spring. This flagship facility will have a transformational impact on our work in Greater Manchester; allowing us to be more accessible, more flexible, and more relevant for young people across the region.
