The Proud Trust is a lifesaving and life enhancing organisation that helps young LGBT+ people empower themselves to make a positive change for themselves and their communities. We do this through youth groups; one-to-one support; managing the LGBT+ Centre for Manchester; delivery of training and events; campaigns; undertaking research and creating resources.

Youth Work Manager

We are seeking a capable and experienced Youth Work Manager to join our team.

This vacancy is for:

  • 30 hours per week 12 months fixed term (with potential to extend the role, funding dependent)
  • At a rate of £31,024.50 pro rata full time equivalent, plus pension contributions

You will be joining a caring and dedicated team, passionate about opportunities for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans inclusion and equality, and to safeguard all people we work with.

You will Manage the Youth Work Programme including a team of Coordinators who deliver youth groups across Greater Manchester and Cheshire; session youth workers; volunteers and placement students. The team also delivers outreach, detached work, projects, events and trips (including residential trips).

You will be responsible for programme management, health and safety, quality assurance and safeguarding for the youth work programmes and projects.

Due to the nature of the wide geography of this post, it is only suitable for someone who can drive and has a car.

Successful applicants will need to be legally allowed to work in the UK, will need to undertake an enhanced DBS check and will need to provide references.

Interview date for shortlisted candidates Tuesday 28th July between 9am and 5pm and will be done digitally. This will likely consist of a Strategic Panel and an Operational Panel, as well as practical exercises and a presentation. Young people will be involved in the process.
