Job description

Purpose of the Job

To support clients in optimising their physical, emotional and mental health & wellbeing

The Health and Wellbeing Officers duties include:

Assisting clients with:

  • GP registration
  • accessing dentists, opticians and free medication/prescriptions/help with other health costs if on low income or claiming benefits – HC1/2 Applications
  • accessing mid-wives
  • understanding the appropriate use of the various points of NHS delivery
  • understanding hospital letters
  • accessing support with mental health
  • accessing parenting classes and ‘stay and play’ groups in their locality
  • resolving issues around health charging

Delivering periodic sessions to small groups of clients which:

  • address clients’ low-level mental health conditions including orientation to the locality
  • assist clients in understanding parenting norms in the UK and the support that can be provided by Supporting Family Hubs/Children’s Centres
  • raise awareness of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) issues

Recruitment of clients to, and coordination of the Latent TB screening clinic hosted at RMC offices

Meetings & Networking

  • To attend relevant meetings if required

 

Administration

  • produce statistical data and appropriate case studies as may be required by management or funding bodies
