The Role

Our Case Officers provide one to one support to members of the Armed Forces Community. They carry out a detailed assessment and work with a wide range of partners and services so that individuals can receive the right support in a timely and seamless way in areas such as finance, employment, health, housing advice or in overcoming temporary crisis.. A case officer may work with someone who has low level needs or those with multiple and complex needs and therefore a strong background of providing support within a welfare setting is essential.  We’re looking for someone who has great communications skills, an ability to build a rapport with others and a strong understand of statutory and third sector support agencies. With a caseload to manage and as a remote worker, the successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter with excellent planning and organisational skills, but you’ll also need to be a strong team player; working closely with the other RBL staff and those in partner organisations.  Case officers also manage volunteer caseworkers who support within their area.

It is essential that you have an empathy with the UK armed forces community, and some knowledge and understanding of this area would also be an advantage.

This role is home based but requires travel throughout Greater Manchester / Lancashire and you may be required, once our offices reopen, to work from the office in the centre of Manchester on occasion.

The role may require some evening and weekend work.

The role requires a full UK driving licence.
