Job description

Fixed 18 month Contract

The Royal College of Ophthalmologists sets the professional specialty standards for the delivery of NHS hospital and community eye services in the UK and advises key stakeholders on ophthalmology workforce and commissioning issues.

The Workforce Manager will be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the NHS, the medical workforce and professional medical membership organisations.

You will lead the coordination and delivery of projects to improve the quality, scope, analysis and use of data to develop insightful business intelligence for the RCOphth.  This is to impact our workforce strategy, communications and policy development, supporting our campaigns to improve capacity for ophthalmologists and the wider multidisciplinary workforce.

The right person will have proven project management skills, working with clinical chairs and staff to deliver potentially high-profile projects. You will have the ability and confidence to present qualitative and quantitative data in a meaningful way with senior members of the medical profession, policy and NHS leadership and staff at all levels.

This is a pivotal role in development of our workforce strategy and policy development across the medical specialty of ophthalmology.
