Job description

About us

The Royal Foundation – now the primary philanthropic vehicle of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – was founded 10 years ago.  It has built a track-record of learning, convening, incubating, researching, campaigning, and succeeding across a wide range of topics that really matter.  The Royal Foundation has helped disrupt criminal poaching networks through United for Wildlife. We have helped change the way the UK thinks about mental health with Heads Together – in schools, at work, and across society.  We have built a movement of veterans that has inspired the world with the Invictus Games and Endeavour Fund.  We’ve mentored young people in Nottingham and trained hundreds of new coaches for our communities.

Our successes have clarified a simple, but powerful strategy: we make a difference by bringing people together.  Our Principals do not seek to compete with the biggest, endowed trusts or the smaller, on-the-ground organisations that do so much vital work in our communities.  They instead work with us to get the right people around the table to tackle important issues, develop sustainable solutions, and then put them into practice.  We learn lessons from our programmes and then move onto the next challenge where we can play a positive role.

At the start of our second decade, our ambitions growing to match the increasing leadership responsibilities of Their Royal Highnesses in the UK, across the Commonwealth Realms, and globally.  We are developing new, exciting programmes on early childhood, the environment, mental health, first responders, and wildlife conservation as we seek to support the national global philanthropic communities by refining our role as a world-leading convening organisation.
