The Society which provides financial support to individuals who are unable to work because of illness is seeking a Welfare Officer. Key elements of the role are to visit applicants and existing beneficiaries in their own home and to assist the Directors in deciding applications for financial support.
You will have significant relevant experience of dealing, in a domestic or other support or advice context, with people who are unable to work. You should also have a substantial understanding of current welfare benefits although the provision of advice is not part of the role. More detail is available in the Job Specification below.
This is a part time role where you will be expected to manage your own case load and have flexibility in the timing of visits. The salary is £28,400 pro rata and based on 29 days per annum. You will be based in the EH postcode area and work from your home. You will need a driving license and access to a car.
