One of the UK’s most inspiring and best known faith-based organisations, The Salvation Army, is looking for a well-organised Contracts Officer to play a vital support role to the Contract Director of an exciting new contract.

Key Responsibilities: 

The Salvation Army has been appointed to the Government’s new Modern Slavery Victim Care Contract to manage the support of adult victims of modern slavery in England and Wales. Through this new and extended contract, which runs for an initial five-year period, we and our specialist partners can build on expertise developed from helping more than 12,000 adult victims of modern slavery and human trafficking since July 2011.

As Contracts Officer, you’ll be the first point of contact for the Contract Director and responsible for creating and maintaining critical contract documentation and deliverables including contract variations, the RAID Log and internal project plans.  You will progress and coordinate the timely delivery of internal and external reporting  requirements and ensure the Contract Director is always fully briefed. We’ll also rely on you to schedule and coordinate meetings and conference calls and prepare and distribute relevant papers. Developing and implementing robust systems and processes to ensure you’re able to effectively deliver on your objectives will be important too, as will establishing effective operational relationships with key front-line delivery partners that prioritise the needs of service users across all areas of operational activity.

You will need:

• Proven experience at a similar level within an external supply chain environment

• A solutions-focussed approach and the ability to think critically and creatively and impact on, and influence, performance and outcomes 

• A proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders at all levels using your excellent all-round communication skills

• Strong attention to detail, effective time management skills and the ability to prioritise work in response to tight deadlines

• Proficiency using IT software packages, with intermediate level skills in Word, Excel, databases and email

• A willingness to travel to work locations within England and Wales, with occasional overnight stays, as required
