Major Donor Fundraiser

London, SE1 (Temporarily home based due to the pandemic)


One of the UK’s most inspiring and best-known faith-based organisations is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Major Donor Fundraiser to develop our existing major donor relationships and cultivate new relationships with potential major donors.

The Salvation Army forms part of the Christian church and boasts an extensive social remit, providing a range of social and community services, including: services for children and the elderly, for those trapped in modern-day slavery, for homeless people, for individuals struggling with addiction, and for people seeking employment.

As a Major Donor Fundraiser, you will be a key part of our philanthropic fundraising, proactively managing a caseload of existing major donors as well as cultivating new relationships with high net worth individuals as prospective major donors in order to grow income that enables the vital work of The Salvation Army

You will also manage the planning and execution of our ongoing communications programme with major donors along with tailored donor journey development.

The successful candidate(s) will be able to demonstrate:

• Experience of successful fundraising including, ideally, major donor fundraising

• Ability to build effective working relationships across an organisation

• Ability to prioritise a varied workload and perform well within a complex environment

This is a permanent position based at Territorial Headquarters currently located at 101 Newington Causeway, London SE1 6BN. The post holder will be required to work remotely until at least 2nd January 2021. Within the next 1-2 years, the current office in Newington Causeway will be vacated. New flexible working arrangements are being developed in Central London area to reflect the changed world of work that has arisen following the Covid-19 pandemic.
