We have an exciting opportunity to join The Salvation Army’s small, but hugely dynamic and successful, Individual Giving team in the newly created role of Supporter Recruitment Manager.
You may not know this, but The Salvation Army is one of the largest, most diverse providers of social and community services after the Government. With more than 650 local centres and nearly 100 residential centres, we make a powerful difference to people across the UK who might otherwise be excluded. Income raised by the Individual Giving team has grown significantly year-on-year, even during the Coronavirus pandemic. With ambitious plans to expand the programme, we have created this new role.
The Supporter Recruitment Manager is responsible for optimising and delivering the current, phenomenally successful and profitable direct marketing recruitment programme, specifically the flagship, national Christmas campaign. A further key responsibility will be a determined focus on digital recruitment and committed giving. The targets are challenging. We still recruit new supporters at above break-even overall, so this is also an income generating activity. The postholder will manage a Digital Fundraising Officer.
Opportunities like this do not come along very often. This is a crucial leadership role in the Individual Giving team, so we are looking for someone with outstanding and extensive direct marketing experience, with a track record of success. You should have a background of refining and developing recruitment programmes based on data insights and analysis, a good sense of creative appreciation and a real understanding of our brand and our audience in order to drive continued, brilliant results. You should be willing to work at both strategic and operational levels – we are looking for someone with great ideas who can roll up their sleeves and bring them to life, but can also provide thorough evaluations of activity. The postholder manages all recruitment through digital channels so must have extensive experience across social media and PPC, as well as knowledge of email marketing to support the Officer with delivery of all email communications.
Currently our headquarters are at 101 Newington Causeway, London SE1 6BN, however the majority of HQ staff are working from home, with limited office-days. We are looking at longer term options for 2021, but flexible working arrangements will be at the heart of decisions we make.
Benefits: 25 days annual leave + bank holidays, a contributory pension scheme; season ticket loan and an employee assistance programme.
Appointment subject to satisfactory references, proof of right to work in the UK.
Closing date: 28 September 2020.
CVs will not be accepted.
