We are passionate about supporting people who have been affected by human trafficking and/or modern slavery with practical support at a local level.
We cannot do this without the help of enthusiastic volunteers so would you like to come and join us?
This role offers an exciting opportunity to come alongside survivors of modern slavery as a mentor in the community as they establish life in Nottingham. Mentors will help to model healthy community within a structured relationship alongside modelling how to establish goals, giving practical advice (attending appointments, navigating transport etc) and helping celebrate successes.
This mentor relationship will be established within a group of three (a ‘trio’) with 2 mentors assigned to every individual survivor. Within the ‘trio’ (2:1) a community integration goal is set. The 2 mentors come alongside an individual to help them achieve their goal over a period of a year. The role will include regular meet-ups and working with clients to give them tools to navigate a pathway to their goal.
As one of our volunteers, you will receive specialised training and regular support from our Community Hub team. We are a faith based organisation and our programmes are open to all. We do not require our staff or volunteers to have a faith but to support our mission and values.
Role: Volunteer Mentor
Availability: Bi-weekly (at minimum) meet-up for 12 months
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
