THE ROLE: The Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner is a new role within the company and the main purpose of the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner will be to implement the Creative Care PBS strategy, creating capable environments that improve well-being and quality of life for the people we support, whilst reducing challenging behaviour and the use of restrictive interventions.

• Conduct assessments and deliver reports,
• Develop, implement and evaluate Positive Behaviour Support plans using the practices and principles of Applied
• Behaviour Analysis to increase functionally equivalent behaviours and proactively reduce challenging incidents,
• Contribute to the designing of, writing, delivering and evaluation of training,
• Keep up-to-date with research findings through literature review, attendance at conferences and Special Interest Groups.

The role will be based at the Head Office in Mansfield but will cover all 8 sites. 

To contribute to delivery of the PBS strategy predominantly in the following areas:
• Staff training & development
• Functional Behaviour Assessment
• Behaviour Support Planning (BSP)
• BSP implementation (including practice workshops)
• Incident analysis & debrief
• Meetings and supervision
1. To work directly with the people we support and demonstrate good practice leadership.
2. To contribute to the support, mentorship and supervision of PBS Coaches.

THE CANDIDATE: For the role of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner would be looking for a flexible, driven and committed individual who is not afraid of a challenge. This person would be true to the principles of PBS but also know when to get a bit creative in order to work for the best possible outcomes. This person will feel passionate about working with individuals who have complex behavioural support needs and demonstrate
unconditional positive regard for the people that we are involved with. You will be an excellent communicator and have experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and individuals outside of
your own practice. You will be experienced delivering training and, if necessary, be keen to further your own training in pursuit of qualifications.

Key experience essential for the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner role:
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Live within a commutable distance of Mansfield (or North / South Nottinghamshire) 
• Relevant qualification (Degree in Psychology, PBS BTEC, Applied behaviour analysis or similar) 
• Experience in a similar role
