The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB) are looking for up to three volunteers who can help us put together our monthly jobs bulletin for members. The jobs bulletin features vacancies from across the building conservation sector, including in architecture, building surveying, engineering, building crafts, visitor services, outreach and communications, archaeology and education. Volunteers would be helping our membership officer to find suitable vacancies to include, mainly via web searches, but also by contacting relevant organisations to advertise the service.
This is a role that can be done completely from home and the time spent on it can be flexible as well – it could be done as a half-day to a day per month, or in an hour or two a week. We envision that this role will be done from home even once the current restrictions are lifted, but volunteers would also be welcome to travel into our office in Spitalfields, London if convenient for them, in which case we will reimburse reasonable travel expenses.
At the SPAB, we believe that old buildings have a future. From cottages to castles and from churches to cathedrals we are here to help buildings and the people who care for them. Based on years of experience and research we understand how old buildings work. Founded in 1877, we are the UK's oldest building conservation charity.
