The Soil Association is the UK’s leading membership charity campaigning for healthy, humane and sustainable food, farming and land use.
Uniquely we work across the whole food chain, giving us extensive learning from our activities with farmers and growers, processors, supply chain partners, caterers, educators, young people and consumers, which enables us to create well-evidenced, practical solutions and programmes across our food and farming portfolio, examples of which include enabling farmer-led innovation through the Innovative Farmers network, our Food For Life (FFL) programme, an exciting and fast-growing programme that bring schools, nurseries, hospitals and care homes, and their surrounding communities, together around the core ethos of healthy, tasty and sustainable food and working with caterers to improve the quality of 1.8 million meals per day through our Food for Life Served Here standards.
About the opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to help build the collective power of the Soil Association brand and enable the maximum impact from our food and farming programmes. This role comes at an exciting time in the development of our new and ambitious ten year strategy at The Soil Association and we are looking for someone with a passion to make sure we achieve the change we want to see in our world through outstanding communications.
As our Food and Farming, Head of Marketing and Communications you will lead our Food and Farming (B2B) marketing, communications and engagement activity, across all stakeholder audiences, generating positive behaviour change and contributing to the development of our key programmatic work.
This is a busy, fast paced role, which requires an innovative mindset as we bring together our food and farming communications teams under a new structure, managing a small dynamic team, you will enjoy creating opportunities to grow our funding and expand our capacity around how food is grown, produced and consumed.
You’ll thrive in this role if you are an innovative leader, have a collaborative mindset, the ability to operate with autonomy, be comfortable working across multiple audiences and channels alongside demonstrating a commitment to making a difference in the world. We are looking for a passionate senior leader, with skills and experience to make a real impact.
