We are looking for an experienced professional to join our friendly helpline team to ensure the smooth running of all aspects of our Livechat service and provide out of hours support (evenings and weekends) for TST’s helpline, email and text service for victims/survivors of rape and sexual abuse, supporters and professionals working with survivors.
The Survivors Trust (TST) is a UK-wide national membership organisation for 120 specialist voluntary sector rape and sexual abuse support services providing support for women, men, children and young people. TST provides support and networking for member agencies; delivers accredited training; raises awareness about rape and sexual abuse and its effect on survivors, their supporters and society at large; promotes effective responses to rape and sexual abuse on a local, regional and national level.
The right candidate will ideally have previous experience of using a person centred approach in a trauma informed setting, and have good understanding of the issues facing survivors of rape and sexual abuse. They will have a good knowledge of database systems, and awareness of issues around confidentiality. They will have excellent communication skills and an ability to engage empathically and positively with volunteers and callers. The role requires candidates to demonstrate flexibility, with the ability to self- motivate and prioritise. A good level of education, the ability to articulate themselves in a friendly and professional manner, and IT competency are essential.
The role will be remote, with occasional travel to our head office based in Rugby, Warwickshire.
You will be required to undergo enhanced DBS clearance to work at The Survivors Trust and references will be sought.
