New Opportunity: Online Community Engagement Manager
Do you enjoy the challenge of starting something new? Do you have the organisational skills, drive and vision to develop a project right from its beginning and ensure it is delivered with impact? Then this role could be the one for you!
The department of Campaigns and Alumni Relations (CAR) reconnects alumni (former students) with their University and encourages them to give support in whatever way they can, through volunteering their time and/or financially. This is an exciting time to consider joining us. The University is currently in the planning stages of launching a new and inclusive online community for alumni and students, which will help them to connect with one another and be part of an exclusive University of Sheffield community. We aim for the online community to increase the volume of students who benefit from interacting with alumni, supporting their employability and ultimately to help the University achieve its ambitious alumni volunteering targets.
This new position will play a pivotal role in this strategically important project. As Online Community Engagement Manager, you will require a clear focus on the needs of the users of the community. With outstanding organisational and communication skills, you will grow the relationship between the University, its students and its global community of alumni.
A confident communicator with the ability to work with people from a diverse range of backgrounds, you will act as the main point of contact for the online community. With strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to solving problems, you will regularly review the data to understand the users’ needs and make recommendations to increase engagement across the platform.
As this is a new role, we are looking for a person who can work on their own initiative, is flexible in their approach and has the energy, confidence and creativity to drive the online community forward to be a success.
We expect the post holder to be able to work remotely from home and to be prepared, sometimes, to work from the office in the University of Sheffield campus (flexible working arrangements post-Covid).
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
