The Head of Conservation Outcomes & Evidence will lead a team of conservation experts and advocates who provide a central function for the Trust – ensuring we have a sound and engaging conservation evidence base to underpin our positions, messages and actions, and in working with colleagues from across the trust to apply this to achieving high standards in conservation outcomes in all that we do and say, on our own estate, in our outreach and delivery projects as well as in our public policy influencing, communications and campaigning.
This role will work closely and collaboratively with senior colleagues across the organisation to ensure our approach to conservation is well evidenced and understood, embedded and consistent across the organisation, as well as with key conservation networks and stakeholders externally.
With experience in practical conservation and an excellent understanding of current environmental, conservation, forestry and wider land management issues, as well as the latest conservation research and evidence relevant to the Trust’s vision and goals, you will have strong leadership skills, able to champion and embed a conservation evidence and outcomes-led approach internally and externally. You will understand the unique opportunities and challenges in this for an organisation such as the Trust, and be able to work collaboratively with others to help us achieve the Trust’s vision and goals.
You’ll be expected to demonstrate clear vision and be able to manage and influence a wide range of stakeholders within and outside the Trust whilst leading and inspiring a team to produce amazing work.
