Job description

Think Equal’s vision is a safe, free and equal world, and our mission is to achieve a global system change in education by introducing Social and Emotional Learning as a compulsory new Early Years subject on national curricula around the world. We ask: “How can it be deemed compulsory for a child to learn mathematics in an age in which we have calculators, and yet it is optional for a child to learn how to value another human being and lead healthy relationships?”

Think Equal has created a free programme in three levels: level one for 3-4 year olds, level two for 4-5 year olds, and level three for 5-6 year olds. The programme is a concrete 30-week toolkit with three lesson plans per week, each 45 minutes long. For each level, the teachers receive a kit that includes 22 books, 90 lesson plans, and a booklet of resources. Teachers receive training on the programme in addition to the step by step lesson plans, which were created to be very clear and easy to implement. The curriculum mediates, at age appropriate levels, competencies such as empathy, emotional literacy, resilience, self-regulation, critical thinking, gender equality, peaceful conflict resolution, and self-esteem.

Effectively, the programme builds, through the conduit of teachers, the pro-social neuropathways in the child’s developing brains. The resultant competencies, values and skills of inclusion, gender equality, empathy, kindness, compassion, emotional intelligence (and 20 other such critical outcomes) evidentially last through adulthood, as long as they are taught holistically, continuously, comprehensively and repetitively as in the Think Equal model.

The post holder will manage the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the Think Equal programmes around the world. You will be working with the CEO to implement and manage the programme in the different programme countires around the world.
