Job Description

ThinkForward runs breakthrough programmes which intervene early to ensure that young people make a successful transition from school to work. ThinkForward targets areas with large numbers of young people at risk of not making a successful transition from education into employment. We provide young people with long-term personalised coaching and employability support so they can overcome challenges holding them back from achieving their potential and successfully navigate a pathway into employment and adulthood.

We have a strong fundraising track record and benefit from strong relationships and networks, mainly in the financial sector. We have also recently won funding from the likes of the National Lottery Community Fund’s Reaching Communities Fund, BBC Children in Need, the Careers and Enterprise Company to name a few.

The fundraising manager will be a key role in a small team, and will focus on new business development, securing new funds from a range of philanthropic and statutory sources as we grow the charity. Some new prospects have already been identified and there is room to scope out new ways to engage existing partners.

About you:

The fundraising manager will have an impressive track record in building new partnerships and securing funding from high-level donors including corporates, major donors and trusts and foundations. They will embrace challenge and be excited by the prospect of being able to work in a small yet ambitious team, with the chance to shape ThinkForward’s future fundraising and profile.

We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • A proven track record of corporate, major donor or trust fundraising, with preference for the former two, and willingness to work across a mixed portfolio of prospects
  • Ability to build creative proposals and stewardship strategies in collaboration with other teams in order to maximize funding potential
  • Effective relationship management and strong networking skills
  • Strong writing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and presentation skills

The role will be offered on a one year fixed-term contract with a possibility of extension.
