Job description

Third Solutions are proud and excited to be working in partnership with Pact to recruit their new Chair of the Board of Trustees.   

Pact is a pioneering national charity that supports prisoners, people with convictions, and their children and families, providing caring and life changing services at every stage of the criminal justice process: in court, in prison, on release, and in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

Leading the Pact Board of Trustees to enable it to fulfil its charitable purposes according to its governing document.

Acting as the CEO of Pact’s mentor, principal sounding board and support, and overseeing performance.

Ensuring Trustees fulfil their duties and responsibilities for effective governance.

Experience, skills and qualities:

A respected strategic and people leader in your field, with the skills, experience and personal qualities, to chair a highly effective board of voluntary trustees.

Knowledge of charity governance and an effective appreciation of the financial, legal and operational responsibilities of a board of trustees.

An excellent and persuasive communicator with strong influencing skills.

Background as a successful and respected leader in a professional field relevant to Pact’s work, this could include mental health, psychology, forensics, public health, social work or criminal justice.  

Pact is particularly keen to hear from candidates with skills, experience, expertise and knowledge within:

  • Psychology
  • Public Health  
  • The NHS

Timelines:

The closing date for applications is Tuesday 31st October 2023.  

Interviews are scheduled to take place week commencing 6th November, and/or week commencing 13th November. 

If needed second interviews will be held week commencing 20th November.
