We are proudly working with this long-established welfare charity, they are looking for someone who has significant governance, legal or compliance experience with the ability to establish credibility and deal confidently, diplomatically and competently with external stakeholders, Board and Committee members and staff at all levels.
In conjunction with external legal specialists, assist the Director of Human Resources and Administration in developing, implementing, monitoring and maintaining an appropriate and effective global governance framework.
Coordinate all aspects of meetings of the Board of Trustees including dates, agendas, papers and ensuring meetings are quorate.
Liaise with external advisors/consultants required at Board or Committee meetings
Take and publish high quality minutes for Committee and Board meeting
Ensure that the charitys intellectual property is protected in relevant countries managing registration and renewals of trademarks and copyright.
Review contracts to ensure the charitys business interests are protected and advise colleagues on contractual terms
Assist the Director of Human Resources and Administration in ensuring that the charitys worldwide property portfolio is effectively managed and reflects the needs of the organisation.
High level of educational attainment, degree level or equivalent is required. A legal, governance or compliance qualification is highly desirable.
Experience of working in a governance, legal or compliance context is required.
Experience of drafting and reviewing papers, policies or contracts is required.
Close attention to detail with evidence of ability to produce high quality Minutes and review, proof-read and quality assure others papers ensuring they are to the required standards.
Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills
