London, Greater London
£42,000 (pro rata) plus £3630 geographical allowance (pro rata)
Contract, 12 Months Fixed Term Contract, Part-time
Job description

The Role

Together is an amazing place to work. And it’s not just because we’re one of the UK’s oldest and most respected mental health charities. It’s because we put the people who use our services at the heart of everything we do – supporting and enabling them to take control of their lives and make a positive contribution to the community.

This exciting stand-alone role sits within the Finance & Resources directorate (F&R) and will report to the Director of F&R.  It offers an exceptional opportunity to build on the procurement work carried out to date and set up strong procurement foundations for the whole organisation.

The main objectives over the 12 months’ timeframe include:

  • Creating further value out of our current contracts in a structured and systematic way, including consolidation of services and costs where appropriate
  • Partnering with the relevant parts of the organisation to define, create and manage supplier lists, framework agreements and standard contractual terms in a collaborative way
  • Assisting the Director of Finance & Resources in setting up and / or reviewing our procurement strategy, policy and guidelines

The role is incredibly varied and reflects the activities of Together.  In particular, procurement activities will focus on our estates (both in terms of facilities management and building development), utilities, insurance, IT and outsourced professional services so experience on those areas would be highly beneficial.

To be considered for this role, you will need to be outcome-focused, have previous experience gained in creating frameworks / supplier lists, leading tender selection processes and keen on driving value.  A strong understanding on how to constructively engage with stakeholder is vital in creating long-term foundations with the senior leadership and local teams.

To better understand the organisation, some travel to various sites will be required.

In return we offer a friendly & dynamic working environment, competitive pay & a great range of benefits.

This is a twelve-month fixed term contract working either 3-4 days per week.

We have a firm commitment to encouraging fairness and diversity in our work force and we welcome applications from disabled people and those from BME backgrounds.

Application closing date: 23/12/2021
