Job description

We are looking for a creative and thoughtful fundraiser to secure unrestricted and project funding from grant making trusts and foundations, and support other fundraising activity as part of a small yet dynamic team. The role is central to the charity’s function, generating around a quarter of its total income.  The successful postholder will be pivotal to the ongoing sustainability of charity and will benefit from working within a supportive, creative and forward-looking team, alongside nine staff and over 700 volunteers.

Ideally, the post-holder will have proven ability to manage a trusts income stream, through understanding, building relationships and maximising the value of existing supporters, and researching and recruiting new trust supporters as part of a clear strategic plan.

You will work closely with our programme staff, using project plans and budgets to secure funds for our activities in Africa and the UK. You will also be responsible for producing a timetable to ensure quality narrative and financial reports for funders, and for writing these updates, with the support of the programme team.

This post is full time, based at our head office in Netley Marsh, near Southampton. Part time hours will be considered - please state when applying, and indicate proposed hours.
