We’re seeking Trustees to join our Board. Being a Trustee is a rewarding role and offers the opportunity to contribute to your local community.
We are an independent charity affiliated to Citizens Advice nationally. We provide free, independent, impartial and confidential advice on all subjects to members of the local community.
Our Trustees are volunteers and responsible for setting the overall strategic direction and development of the charity, and ensuring that we meet the needs of the local community. They are also responsible for governance, and for ensuring that financial controls and an effective fundraising strategy are in place.
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds who can bring different skills, experience and perspectives to strengthen our Board. In particular, we are looking for a finance trustee to oversee the financial management of our charity.
We meet as a Board eight times per year (including the AGM) at different locations – so some travel is involved. Meeting times can be flexible to suit the group. Trustees also lead projects and do work outside of Board meetings as agreed with the Chair. All new Trustees are supported with an induction programme to help them understand the work of Citizens Advice nationally and locally.
The Citizens Advice service is committed to valuing diversity and promoting equality. We encourage and welcome applications from suitably qualified candidates from all backgrounds regardless of age, disability, gender and sexual orientation.
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds who can bring different skills, experience and perspectives to strengthen our Board. For the Finance Trustee role you will need to possess a recognised accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA.
