Touchstone has been awarded NHS funding to run a Wakefield Safe Space in the early evening and at night, delivered in partnership with Spectrum People and GASPED. The Wakefield Safe Space will run on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, between the hours of 6pm – 12am.  The Wakefield Safe Space provides a non-clinical setting to support 12 adults at a time to access support in a crisis, as an alternative to A&E. The post holder will support people in acute distress, including 1-2-1 support, support planning and liaising with local services. The post requires evening, weekend and bank holiday work.

We wish to recruit someone with personal experience of mental distress, and substantial experience of supporting people in crisis, including working with people at risk of suicide and self-harm, and supporting people from BME and LGBT communities.
