Well-Bean Café Support Worker
NJC Scale Points 12 – 17, starting at £22,183 pa / pro rata
24.5 hours per week (Leeds) – fixed term to May 2023, with the possibility of extension
24.5 hours per week (Kirklees) – fixed term up to May 2024, with the possibility of extension
Bank hours are available across Leeds, Kirklees and Wakefield.
The aim of the Well-bean Café Kirklees is to divert people who would be better supported elsewhere away from Accident and Emergency (A&E) and other crisis services within Kirklees.
The Well-bean Cafe is open 7 evenings a week between the hours of 6pm – 12am. The cafe provides a non-clinical setting to support 12 individuals at a time to access support in a crisis, as an alternative to A&E. The post holder will support people in acute distress, including 1-2-1 support, support planning and liaising with local services.
We wish to recruit someone with personal experience of mental distress, and substantial experience of supporting people in crisis, including working with people at risk of suicide and self-harm, and supporting people from BME and LGBT communities.
Virtual information sessions will be held on Wednesday 19th January, from 12:00pm and 12:30pm.
