The quality of the homes and communities in which people live has a profound impact on their health, safety, wellbeing and life chances. How places are designed, built and used also has a key role in helping to tackle, or adding to, current environmental and health crises. The TCPA works to shape the built environment in order to transform people's lives for the better. And we have a big job to do!
We need a communications officer with excellent written English to help us keep our media profile high, promote our campaigns and projects, and manage our website. Our current priorities include campaigns on climate change, improving the quality of new homes through a Healthy Homes Act, the reuniting of planning and health, securing a stronger voice for people in planning, and achieving the homes we need in new and renewed places. We do all of this underpinned by Garden City principles, which aim to achieve a socially just and sustainable society.
Our new communications officer will be working with a small but ambitious team. Our events, policy ideas and publications attract the attention of politicians, professionals and the public, and we need a well-organised communicator to generate media interest, deal with enquiries, and oversee and write a range of newsletters, web content and social media. This role will suit someone who is willing and able to tackle a wide range of communications tasks – an all-rounder rather than a specialist.
Further information about the role, the skills and experience we are looking for and how to apply is included in the job description and person specification attached below.
The deadline for applications is midnight on Sunday 26 January and we hope to hold interviews on Monday 3 February.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
