Job description

TPP are recruiting for a Supported housing worker. This charity have been supporting individuals, families and communities with drug or alcohol problems for 50 years.

This role would be working on a rota basis covering some weekends. The salary would increase after your probation period and then reviewed at your annual review.
25 days holiday plus bank holiday

The purpose of this role is to work as part of a team to develop and maintain high quality supported accommodation services for individuals working towards recovery from drug and alcohol use.

Some of the main duties:
To proactively work alongside the Service Manager and colleagues to provide high quality supported accommodation to service users across a range of services
To develop and implement holistic and integrated support plans with individuals who have experienced/are experiencing addiction personalised to their own needs and aspirations
To complete and regularly update risk assessments and develop risk management plans in conjunction with service users, taking a non-risk averse approach to enable service users to develop and reach their potential.
To prepare for, deliver and actively participate in effective handovers ensuring sufficient
and relevant details are included as to maintain a high quality service.
To operate a strengths based, solution focussed approach to support, utilising coaching and motivational interviewing techniques.
To take part in a 7 day rota, working between the hours of 8am and 11pm to ensure appropriate staff cover across multiple services
To develop and facilitate regular group sessions with residents of supported housing projects
To undertake regular and random testing of clients for drugs and alcohol
To provide advice and guidance to service users on a range topics including (but not limited to) housing and welfare benefits, education and employment, health and well-being and recreational and cultural activities.
To develop and deliver group sessions aimed to cultivate positive change and empower individuals to gain independence and confidence in their skills
Develop constructive relationships with other agencies by proactively seeking opportunities to work with them across a range of platforms

Person specification
Experience of working in services with people with support needs related to alcohol/substance misuse and mental health.
Ability to manage a case load of individuals with presenting support needs
Ability to work with individuals to develop clear timeframed action plans that support progress towards goals
Experience of working in partnership with other organisations
Demonstrable experience of working as part of a team to deliver a high quality service
Ability to work with service users to develop workable risk management plans and to adopt a non-risk averse approach to service delivery
Demonstrable commitment to your own continuous professional development and that of others.
Ability to work flexibly as part of a 7 day rota covering a number of services
