TRAFFIC is a leading non-governmental organisation working globally on trade in wild animals and plants in support of both biodiversity conservation and sustainable development. We have been making invaluable contributions to conservation for decades. Although there is still much to do, our past successes provide a strong foundation for the future. 2021 will be a pivotal year for international agreements on priorities for the environment, and TRAFFIC aims to contribute effectively to their delivery in the years ahead.
We are looking for our next Executive Director, who will be a collaborative, progressive and dynamic leader for the next chapter of our organisation’s growth and development. We are looking for an inclusive and inspirational leader with strong alignment to our mission. The successful candidate will be able to inspire, manage and develop a diverse, international and high-performing team of specialists in their fields, steward the financial health of the organisation and develop a strategy to address an increasingly competitive landscape.
The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to our principle of influence through evidence and an understanding of the issues within the environmental, conservation and illegal wildlife trade arena. You will demonstrate experience in leading and managing technically driven organisations, strong fundraising experience, excellent communication skills, and a track record of partnership building and influencing. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will shape and evolve TRAFFIC’s strategy, systems, structure and campaigns, while nurturing its culture and encouraging innovation and integrated delivery of results to fulfil the mission of the organisation.
TRAFFIC wishes to encourage applications from experienced leaders drawn from a wide variety of backgrounds who can drive and inspire change and lead an organisation seeking to create significant and lasting change in the field of illegal wildlife trade.
If you share our passion for the natural world and want to help us achieve our vision, we’d love to hear from you.
