We’re looking for a dynamic Workforce Development Coordinator to lead, manage and develop our incredible sports coaches, volunteers and tutors. You’ll be managing everything from recruitment through to personal and professional development.
You’ll use your people skills to work closely with partners to deliver expert-led training courses, making their activities more inclusive for disabled people. Highly organised and with an eye for detail, you’ll liaise with each partner to make sure we meet their needs.
You’ll also manage Inclusive Activity Leaders – a truly life-changing programme created in partnership with Nike that trains disabled people to become fully qualified sports coaches and enjoy new careers.

Your role
As Assistant Shop Manager at Scope's Wakefield shop, you’ll work alongside the Shop Manager, and use your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! One day you might be be generating and processing stock and designing an eye-catching window display. The next day you might be recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. Every day there will be a different challenge that you’ll find extremely rewarding. You may also deputise and be responsible for running the shop when the shop manager is absent. A great attitude and willingness to learn are just as important as relevant experience.
About you
You’ll be a dedicated team player with a strong work ethic and committed to providing excellent customer service. You do not need specific retail experience. But we do ask that you are business minded and have worked in a fast paced, service environment where you put the customer’s needs first. You’ll also need to showcase a great attention to detail, solid IT skills and have a creative eye for displays. You will also demonstrate an appreciation of Scope’s values and ambition of achieving Everyday Equality for disabled people.

This Grants Specialist role is essential in supporting disabled households to access support by identifying and securing grant funding. The role also concentrates on providing expert guidance and support throughout the application process for grants.

In this role you will be:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Researching and identifying grant funding opportunities suitable for disabled households, with a focus on energy support and broader needs.
- Offering tailored advice and support to colleagues, ensuring they are equipped to identify and assist clients with grant applications.
- Creating and maintaining resources, such as guides and templates, to streamline the grant application process for colleagues and customers.
- Conducting training sessions for colleagues on identifying funding opportunities and supporting service users through the application process.
- Analysing feedback and engagement data from customers to refine and enhance the advice and support provided.
- Ensuring all information related to grant opportunities is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to individuals with diverse needs.
- Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to maximize the reach and impact of grant funding support.
- Managing tasks and projects independently to contribute effectively to the team's goals, in line with the organisation’s commitment to equality and inclusion.
About You
- You will have strong experience in identifying and securing grant funding, preferably with a focus on support for disabled individuals or households. Demonstrated Skills in Training or education, particularly in a support or service context.
- You will play a pivotal role in data analysis to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Energy Services.
- You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to be able to communicate difficult and complex information. A strong ability to convey complex information in an accessible way and engage diverse audiences.
- You will be skilled in research and information gathering, with a methodical approach to evaluating grant opportunities. Ability to respond positively to change while being able to work effectively with conflicting priorities.
- You will be highly organised with the capacity to manage multiple priorities when delivering training sessions and one-to-one support. A collaborative team player, capable of working effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- It is essential that you have a good working knowledge of IT including Microsoft Office Products. Excellent attention to detail when using databases and proficient in data analysis for service delivery improvement.
- You will bring drive and enthusiasm to your role and can demonstrate that you care passionately about improving the lives of disabled people and their families.

Your role
As Assistant Shop Manager at Scope's Littlehampton shop, you’ll work alongside the Shop Manager, and use your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. You will be able to use your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! One day you might be be generating and processing stock and designing an eye-catching window display. The next day you might be recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. Every day there will be a different challenge that you’ll find extremely rewarding. You may also deputise and be responsible for running the shop when the shop manager is absent. A great attitude and willingness to learn are just as important as relevant experience.
About you
You’ll be a dedicated team player with a strong work ethic and committed to providing excellent customer service. You do not need specific retail experience. But we do ask that you are business minded and have worked in a fast paced, service environment where you put the customer’s needs first. You’ll also need to showcase a great attention to detail, solid IT skills and have a creative eye for displays. You will also demonstrate an appreciation of Scope’s values and ambition of achieving Everyday Equality for disabled people.
About working in our shops
Our shops are the face of our retail brand, run by a dedicated, creative and passionate bunch of superstars. We focus on sustainable fashion and engaging with local communities. We lead our volunteers to deliver a great colleague and customer experience. And we raise much needed funds to deliver Everyday Equality for disabled people and their families.

Shop hours
It’s important for you to know that Scope Charity Shops are open every day, so some weekend and Bank Holiday cover is needed. We work 35 hours a week, working five days out of seven. Weekly hours for part-time vacancies are on a seven-day rota.

Volunteers are vital to our charity, the provide over 100,000 hours of support a year to our work. As our charity’s volunteer programme has grown over the last few years, we need to increase our capacity to recruit and better support our volunteers.
This role is focus on improving the support with give to our volunteers who care for our dogs and pups in training. There we are not just looking for someone who is experienced working with volunteers and is great with people, but someone who has presentation or teaching skills. So they can talk to groups of volunteers to help them develop the skills and confidence to have a positive experience and impact when volunteering with our charity. Candidate who have a good knowledge of dogs would be a real advantage.
Recruitment of new volunteers is also a key part of this role and so we will require the post holder to manage activity to achieve this, including some occasional weekend and evening work at specific recruitment events.
