In support of our national vision and strategy, the Church of England has a small central Leadership Development Team (LDT) currently comprising of seven staff posts. Through this team we invest significantly in the learning and development of senior leaders and the development of a diverse range of potential future leaders. We are also exploring opportunities to bring good Christian leadership development practice to bear in other areas of the life of the church.

• As the team leader, nurture a flourishing Leadership Development Team in which the gifts of all team members can be developed and deployed in support of the work entrusted to the team.
• To oversee the development, implementation and continuous improvement of induction programmes for Bishops, Deans and Archdeacons so that those newly appointed to these roles can quickly establish firm foundations for fruitful ministry.
• To lead the continuing evolution of a compelling national learning and development programme linked to the Church's formational frameworks that forms and equips Bishops, Deans and Archdeacons so that they can flourish as they lead the Church in mission within their roles.
• To oversee the shaping, implementation and evolution of the Strategic Leadership Development Programme for those identified as having potential for future wider responsibility.
• To oversee the optimal deployment of coaches and other supportive interventions for senior clergy.
• Subject to available funding, lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of new programmes to form and equip other frontline leaders (e.g. Diocesan Secretaries and incumbent-level clergy) so that they can flourish as they also lead the Church in mission in their roles.
• To oversee the development, implementation and continuous improvement of a periodic development review process that facilitates the continued holistic formation of Bishops and to explore opportunities for an equivalent process for Deans.
• To create and sustain an appetite for organisational learning and development through the provision of high-quality learning and other interventions.

Key Purpose:

Engage with staff and volunteers at a local and national level across RABI as well as with key external stakeholders and partners to influence compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures. Support the Senior Service Delivery Manager to implement RABI’s reporting through maintenance of effective internal recording and reporting systems (CPOMS). Promote a high level of safeguarding awareness and related training throughout the organisation guided by priorities highlighted in the safeguarding action plan. Provide a high level of safeguarding support to all staff and volunteers and embed a strong culture of safeguarding across RABI. Act as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead in the absence of the Senior Service Delivery Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

· Work alongside the Designated Safeguarding Lead to develop and enhance safeguarding practice within the organisation.

· Act as one of the first points of contact for all staff, volunteers and external queries in all matter of safeguarding.

· Daily oversight of our safeguarding system CPOMS. Follow up on any queries relating to CPOMS and develop training materials to support staff and volunteers in this area.

· Provide the Designated Safeguarding Lead with monthly report to feed into longer-term safeguarding planning.

· Work alongside the Designated Safeguarding Lead to develop and deliver safeguarding training and support sessions for staff and volunteers to create an annual training plan.

· Effectively engage with staff and volunteers at a local and national level to ensure safeguarding escalations and approaches are understood through the organisation.

· If required travel to RABI volunteer groups to provide safeguarding support.

· Work with external stakeholders and partners to understand the main thematic areas of safeguarding that are impacting the community that we support.

· Work collaboratively within RABI to share information about safeguarding trends that are happening locally or nationally.

· Lead of providing safeguarding support to regional teams and provide practical guidance on managing a range of operational safeguarding risks, increasing confidence in safeguarding practice across RABI.

· Champion safeguarding practices and procedures across all Departments, ensuring compliance and driving engagement and awareness.

· Develop working relationships with key internal stakeholders e.g. volunteering, partnerships, campaigning and fundraising to offer safeguarding input to any emerging projects.

· Maintain up to date knowledge of current practice changes and any relevant changes to wider guidance, policy and legislation; including proactively engaging with other organisations and external experts to ensure RABI’s approach is informed by and contributes to best practice within the sector.

· Manage all referrals to RABI’s counselling provision ensuring all external and internal SLA’s are adhered to.

Person Specification:

Essential

· Experience of working as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

· Relevant up to date training in the specialist area of Safeguarding

· Knowledge of safeguarding practices and legislation

· Knowledge and experience of statutory agency practices and multi-agency working

· Ability to distinguish between observation, facts and information gained from others and confidently assess risk in a time sensitive manner

About On Your Side

On Your Side is the UK-wide support and reporting service for East and Southeast Asian communities who experience racism and/or any forms of hate.

Launched in August 2022, the service includes a 24/7 freephone helpline available in East and Southeast Asian languages; a website with reporting forms and resources; and ongoing community-based support delivered by trained casework advocates. We work to ensure that those who  experience racism and/or hate have access to the highest levels of culturally competent support while building a better picture of the nature and range of incidents so they can be better prevented.

Funded by the UK Department for Levelling Up Housing and Communities, On Your Side is delivered by a consortium of 9 organisations including East and Southeast Asian led community groups alongside national hate crime reporting and hate crime prevention organisations. This role will be based at the consortium lead organisation, identity-based violence prevention charity Protection Approaches.

About the role

Based at Protection Approaches, the Project Officer will report directly to the On Your Side Project Manager, and work closely with Protection Approaches’ team, On Your Side Casework Coordinator, Outreach Officer, and all consortium partners.

This is a new and exciting role that will be central to the delivery and development of the On Your Side service as it moves into a new phase over the next 12 months as an established, sustainable service.

In this role the Project Officer will develop their project management skills as they work with the Project Manager on overall coordination of the On Your Side service including coordination of the project delivery team across partner organisations to ensure they are meeting agreed objectives to agreed timelines.

You will oversee several distinct areas of work including overseeing the strategy and work of the On Your Side Outreach Officer in developing and implementing new engagement, outreach, communications and public education strategies. You will also oversee the publishing of a quarterly data report, and ensuring data is being recorded appropriately and accurately.

You will represent the service at high profile meetings and events including meeting with current and future funders, representatives from national and local government, other policy-makers, police and, academic experts to build the profile of the service, improve its support methodologies and impact, and assist in the development and implementation of sustainability and fundraising plans for the service.

You will be trained by the Protection Approaches Outreach team on delivery of hate crime workshops, and other trainings and use those skills to deliver awareness sessions for On Your Side, raising awareness of the service and it’s benefits while supporting ESEA community members to better understand their rights and how they can tackle racism and hate.

The role is a 12-month fixed term contract. During this period we expect to secure additional resources to ensure the ongoing delivery of this service and extend the role of Project Officer.

The successful candidate will:

• Assist the Project Manager in overall coordination of the On Your Side service including coordination of the project delivery team across partner organisations to ensure they are meeting agreed objectives to agreed timelines
• Oversee the work and strategy of the On Your Side Outreach Officer to develop and implement engagement, outreach, and public education strategies to increase knowledge about the service and use of the service
• Increase the profile and visibility of On Your Side particularly among key stakeholders in ESEA communities and service provider to establish partnerships in outreach or referrals
• Represent the service at high profile external meetings, such as with funders, or stakeholders in regional or national government

We are a dedicated Domestic Abuse Charity supporting Women exposed to gender-based violence and exploitation, and their children to be safe and have access to appropriate interventions and support in order to live free from fear and harm.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Nature and Wellbeing Officer to work with the England Nature and Wellbeing Manager to expand our exciting programme of RSPB Nature Prescriptions in the West Midlands.

A growing body of evidence indicates that individuals with a greater connection to nature experience improved mental wellbeing, greater vitality and happiness, and are more satisfied with life. Research also shows that increasing your connection with nature can positively impact a range of conditions, including stress, anxiety and depression.  RSPB Nature Prescriptions are designed to encourage and prompt people to connect to nature.

We believe that everyone, no matter where they live or the challenges they face, has the right to feel this strong connection to the natural world. Inspiring healthcare professionals and others in the NHS and social care, is a key route for the RSPB to enable more people from more diverse communities to access nature.  In so doing we hope to inspire people to love nature and work with us to save it. Through this project we intend to support more diverse audiences to connect to nature, including through the co-design of materials in different formats.

Key tasks:

• Develop and deliver a new RSPB Nature Prescriptions project to people living in diverse communities within the West Midlands
• Deliver presentations to a wide range of potential stakeholders with the aim of obtaining engagement with the project
• Engage with local healthcare professionals and community groups to identify ways of ensuring Nature Prescriptions reach a large diversity of people
• Co-design Nature Prescriptions materials with local people, community groups and healthcare professionals
• Facilitate nature connection workshops to improve the knowledge, skills and confidence of people who will be delivering Nature Prescriptions
• Develop a project plan for the delivery of Nature Prescriptions and follow project management principles to ensure a successful delivery of agreed outcomes
• Tap into local environmental networks to build a picture of nature based activities available and identify opportunities for partnership working
• Explore and contribute to the evaluation of the project, including data gathering and collecting case studies from project partners
• Represent the RSPB on relevant local health and wellbeing networks
• Build internal relationships with RSPB employees and volunteers working within the West Midlands and beyond
• Further develop our Nature and Wellbeing Sharepoint site to provide people across the RSPB access to our latest materials

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

• Skilled in delivering nature connection workshops or training
• Experience of working within the health and wellbeing sector
• Experience of developing and delivering projects with diverse communities
• Experience of developing external partnerships and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders
• An excellent verbal and written communicator able to communicate RSPB messages in a way that is understood by a range of audiences and that engenders their support
• Experience of successfully developing and delivering projects
• Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage and deliver a varied workload
• Skilled in using Microsoft 365 suite including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Teams

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

• Experience of SharePoint management
• Experience of recruiting and managing volunteers

About the opportunity
Corporate partnerships are critical to delivering our mission and ensuring we can support as many children and young people facing disadvantage to open doors to their future. The Philanthropy Team as a whole has a combined target income for the current year (2023-24) of £1.83 million (growing to £2.35m as our target for next year) of which approximately £850k is from corporate donors and their foundations. We have been successful year on year in increasing our fundraising base by building secure multi-year partnerships. Part of our growth strategy is looking at building stronger relationships with corporate partners, having established a strong multi-year relationship for the first time this year worth £500k annually. We have a great ability to measure and quantify its impact, which we are looking to better communicate and leverage with current and potential corporate partners.

We’re looking for a Corporate Partnerships Manager to lead on our corporate partnership activities and initiatives, including growing income from corporate partners as well as increasing the number of corporate volunteer tutor applications we receive from them. Working within our Philanthropy Team, the Corporate Partnerships Manager will be responsible for the line-management and development of two Corporate Partnership Coordinators, ensuring that, as a team, you meet your corporate income and volunteer application targets. Your focus will be on deepening and leveraging relationships with our existing partners, alongside engaging new organisations with our mission and vision.

Duties and responsibilities
• Manage, maintain and leverage existing corporate partner relationships alongside, as relevant, the Head of Philanthropy and Fundraising Manager, including proactively reporting to partners on the impact of their funding, giving and volunteering to encourage further support from them.

• Work with the CEO, Head of Philanthropy and Fundraising Manager to ensure Action Tutoring’s fundraising targets are met, and manage an effective pipeline across Action Tutoring’s different income streams.

• Working with the Head of Philanthropy and Fundraising Manager, with an end goal of increasing both income and volunteer tutor applications from corporate partners, including, as relevant, agreeing to set the strategic plan for corporate partnerships and identifying which ones are most fruitful, defining their journey, and setting targets for both income and volunteers.

• Work with the Head of Philanthropy and Fundraising Manager to support the completion of grant applications for corporate foundations, using the Fundraising Manager as a point of expertise ensuring that reporting requirements for grants and donations are met.

• Working with your Corporate Partnership Coordinators, research and drive new opportunities for high-value multi-year commitments. Support the CEO and Head of Philanthropy in pitching those relationships where appropriate.
Identify potential funders within the current corporate volunteer pool and work closely with the Head of Philanthropy and Fundraising Manager to convert corporate support into income generation to meet agreed upon targets.

• Develop new partnership leads using personal networks and networks within Action Tutoring’s staff team and volunteer pool, including supporting the Programme Team in cultivating partnerships with corporations in their local areas.

• Proactively engage partners in supporting us through fundraising activities, such as challenges and events, match-funding campaigns and pay-roll giving schemes.

• With your Corporate Partnership Coordinators, prepare and deliver presentations and information sessions that encourage colleagues of Corporate Partners to join us as volunteer tutors or support us financially.

• Oversee your Corporate Partnerships Coordinators to lead corporate volunteer recruitment, ensuring agreed targets for corporate volunteers are met.

• Ensure the development of clear and compelling marketing materials to engage corporate organisations, alongside maintaining the partnership areas of our website.

• Line management of two Corporate Partnerships Coordinators, ensuring workload is fairly distributed and supporting their development.

• Represent Action Tutoring at relevant meetings and events.

• Ensure accurate record-keeping of corporate partnerships and relationships on Salesforce and any other relevant systems.

• Any other ad hoc responsibilities as deemed relevant by the CEO.

Person specification

This role requires an ambitious and innovative individual with outstanding interpersonal skills. Engaging corporate partners both in-person and online, you’ll be a confident presenter with exceptional written and verbal communication. Working within a passionate team, and with a multitude of corporate partners from different sectors, you’ll be an excellent collaborator who has a keen eye for opportunities and strong initiative. With a successful track-record of developing and stewarding corporate funding and/or volunteering partnerships, you’ll have knowledge of great engagement strategies, activities and initiatives.

Qualifications criteria:
• A*-C in maths and English at GCSE (or equivalent experience).

• Right to work in the UK.

We are looking for some of the following attributes, though you might be more experienced in some areas than others:

• Minimum two years experience in leading on growing and managing successful corporate partnerships.

• A track record successfully engaging organisations with either fundraising and/or volunteering opportunities.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication with excellent interpersonal skills.

You will be likely be more successful in this role if you have:

• You have a proven track record of developing and stewarding fruitful corporate partnerships within the charity sector.

• You have a passion for educational inequality/working within the Third Sector.

• Line management experience.

• Experience working within a charity with a turnover of £3M or more.
