Main duties and responsibilities 

• To develop engaging and accessible learning resources using a range of different formats, which supports learners to develop essential skills through leadership opportunities.

• To build and deliver online learning and training for both learners and tutors.

• To use data and research available to generate ideas and concepts for new and existing programmes. 

• To support engagement with centres (customers) and learners to gather feedback and grow ideas to support programme development.

• To collaborate with suppliers such as graphic designers, when required, to develop high quality, visually appealing branded learning resources. 

• To support projects with third party suppliers or subject matter experts when required, to meet customer need.    

• To develop, enhance and sustain close working relationships with colleagues to support the programme development process. 

• To keep up to date with relevant insights and emerging trends to enhance the learning experiences we can provide. 

• To contribute to effective communication about our programmes, by working closely with the marketing and communications team and business development team to support messaging. 

• To be an active part of internal project teams when requested, to support the organisations goals. 

• To be an active member of the Innovation and Standards Directorate and to carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Head of Innovation. 

Skills, experience and knowledge 

Required/essential: 

• Proven experience in developing high quality learning resources for young people and/or educators. 

• Knowledge and experience of developing skills through learning programmes.

Universify Education is looking for an organised and adaptable Programme Manager. This is a great opportunity for someone experienced in project management and working with young people to expand the charity’s programmes and work in a small charity.

Job Summary

• Contract type: Permanent, full-time.
• Start date: May/June 2024 or as soon as possible
• Salary: £27,000-30,000 based on experience
• Location: Hybrid working with office space in Oxford and London. Willing to travel to Oxford 1-2 times a week, and, during course delivery for 2 months a year, be resident in Oxford (preference for an Oxford-based candidate). The Charity

Universify exists to create a fairer, more equal society where every young person can fulfil their potential regardless of their background. We equip young people from low socio-economic and underrepresented backgrounds with the skills, knowledge, and belief to fulfil their potential through education.

We work with Year 10-11 students (aged 14-16) to increase their aspirations, improve GCSE attainment and to gain a greater understanding of post-18 pathways, particularly university, to make a more informed decision about their future. We run a year-long programme, starting with a week-long summer residential at partner universities, monthly coaching sessions with Universify coaches and a 3-day GCSE-focused revision residential at Spring.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Programme Manager, you will manage the Programme Team to deliver the charity’s annual residential and coaching programme and impact reporting. You will act as the primary relationship holder for all existing major programme partners, including universities and other third sector organisations. During programme delivery, you will be a part of the team’s Safeguarding Leads and work with the Programme Team to ensure the safety and care of our participants.

You will report to the CEO and work with them to build relationships with new partners, and develop the charity’s ability to expand the programme by considering its impact data, needs of partners and stakeholders, and any changes to its programme model. You will also maintain the charity’s CRM and improve programme efficiency. As the Programme Manager, you will be involved in events, fundraising activities and publicity, including supporting the Comms officer.

Main Duties

• Oversee programme delivery, including line managing the Programme Team (3 staff)
• Manage existing programme partnerships (universities, third sector organisations) and build new relationships alongside the CEO
• Manage and deliver external programmes including the Royal National Children’s Springboard Foundation partnership programme
• Project manage impact reporting, defining data requirements, overseeing data collection and analysis, and writing the impact report
• Work with the Communications Officer and CEO to enhance the charity’s publicity including social media, in-person events, and publicity campaigns
• Provide expertise as a Level 3 safeguarding lead as part of the safeguarding team
• Maintain the charity CRM (Salesforce) and coordinate with developers to update the CRM

What we're looking for

We are looking for someone who has the following skills and characteristics

• Excellent line management and team management skills 

• Ability to create and maintain relationships with a range of external stakeholders

• Good working knowledge of recruitment processes, especially within the voluntary sector

• Excellent at coordinating a range of projects simultaneously; organised, adaptable, prioritises well and has good attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to cover a range of audiences and purposes (including impact reporting, written and verbal communication with schools, students, parents; PR; training)

• Some data analysis skills and an understanding of charity impact reporting, or a willingness to learn about impact reporting

• Works well in a small team and is interested in working in a small organisation

Required experience

We are looking for candidates with the following experience

• At least 2 years’ experience of working with young people, particularly vulnerable groups, including delivering programmes
• At least 2 years of project management experience
• At least 1 year’s experience of team management and line management
• Experience of managing and recruiting a range of stakeholders involved in programme delivery, particularly schools and volunteers
• Secure knowledge and experience of child safeguarding policy and practice. Level 3 Safeguarding Lead qualification or a willingness to obtain this as part of the role

Ideally, candidates would have experience in a few of the following areas:

• Experience managing residential programmes or large-scale events. Experience of designing educational programmes
• Experience working with schools and universities
• Coaching expertise and ability to train coaches
• Knowledge of recruitment strategies, especially in the voluntary sector
• Experience expanding programmes and identifying new opportunities to expand programmes
• Impact report writing and data analysis expertise

About On Your Side

On Your Side is the UK-wide support and reporting service for East and Southeast Asian communities who experience racism and/or any forms of hate.

Launched in August 2022, the service includes a 24/7 freephone helpline available in East and Southeast Asian languages; a website with reporting forms and resources; and ongoing community-based support delivered by trained casework advocates. We work to ensure that those who  experience racism and/or hate have access to the highest levels of culturally competent support while building a better picture of the nature and range of incidents so they can be better prevented.

Funded by the UK Department for Levelling Up Housing and Communities, On Your Side is delivered by a consortium of 9 organisations including East and Southeast Asian led community groups alongside national hate crime reporting and hate crime prevention organisations. This role will be based at the consortium lead organisation, identity-based violence prevention charity Protection Approaches.

About the role

Based at Protection Approaches, the Project Officer will report directly to the On Your Side Project Manager, and work closely with Protection Approaches’ team, On Your Side Casework Coordinator, Outreach Officer, and all consortium partners.

This is a new and exciting role that will be central to the delivery and development of the On Your Side service as it moves into a new phase over the next 12 months as an established, sustainable service.

In this role the Project Officer will develop their project management skills as they work with the Project Manager on overall coordination of the On Your Side service including coordination of the project delivery team across partner organisations to ensure they are meeting agreed objectives to agreed timelines.

You will oversee several distinct areas of work including overseeing the strategy and work of the On Your Side Outreach Officer in developing and implementing new engagement, outreach, communications and public education strategies. You will also oversee the publishing of a quarterly data report, and ensuring data is being recorded appropriately and accurately.

You will represent the service at high profile meetings and events including meeting with current and future funders, representatives from national and local government, other policy-makers, police and, academic experts to build the profile of the service, improve its support methodologies and impact, and assist in the development and implementation of sustainability and fundraising plans for the service.

You will be trained by the Protection Approaches Outreach team on delivery of hate crime workshops, and other trainings and use those skills to deliver awareness sessions for On Your Side, raising awareness of the service and it’s benefits while supporting ESEA community members to better understand their rights and how they can tackle racism and hate.

The role is a 12-month fixed term contract. During this period we expect to secure additional resources to ensure the ongoing delivery of this service and extend the role of Project Officer.

The successful candidate will:

• Assist the Project Manager in overall coordination of the On Your Side service including coordination of the project delivery team across partner organisations to ensure they are meeting agreed objectives to agreed timelines
• Oversee the work and strategy of the On Your Side Outreach Officer to develop and implement engagement, outreach, and public education strategies to increase knowledge about the service and use of the service
• Increase the profile and visibility of On Your Side particularly among key stakeholders in ESEA communities and service provider to establish partnerships in outreach or referrals

For more than 50 years, the British Dyslexia Association (BDA) has been the voice of people living with dyslexia. We aim to influence government and other institutions to promote a dyslexia friendly society that enables dyslexic people of all ages to reach their full potential. Key Purpose:

Engage with staff and volunteers at a local and national level across RABI as well as with key external stakeholders and partners to influence compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures. Support the Senior Service Delivery Manager to implement RABI’s reporting through maintenance of effective internal recording and reporting systems (CPOMS). Promote a high level of safeguarding awareness and related training throughout the organisation guided by priorities highlighted in the safeguarding action plan. Voice4Change England (V4CE) is a membership organisation with a vision to build a stronger and more inclusive civil society to meet the needs of BME and other disadvantaged communities by giving out grants, providing infrastructure support for the voluntary and community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector, campaigning on topical issues and policy and collaborating in groundbreaking research.

The role

Voice4Change England is recruiting for an Infrastructure and Development Officer who will effectively manage outreach and consultation with BME organisations and communities across England. We are looking for a proactive, motivated and outgoing person to join our Infrastructure and Development Team.

You will be passionate about social justice and addressing inequalities, can assess community needs and deliver infrastructure support addressing under-funding, and help to build sustainability and resilience in BME groups as well as help groups develop opportunities for greater impact.

The role will be remote working with monthly meetings and project related travel across England.

Main responsibilities 

• Organise and deliver outreach to reach and engage BME organisations and be informed by them on needs and issues.

• Organise roadshows and other events to engage and consult with BME organisations on particular issues and themes that emerge from outreach and consultation.

• Contribute to the development of learning, advice, support and resources for BME organisations.

• Liaise with external agencies and service providers to help broker increased inclusion of BME organisations.

• Collaborate, inform and involve, as relevant, BME organisations to aid the development of this work.

• Produce reports for V4CE and funders on the impact and value of the outreach and development work

• Contribute to dissemination of the contribution of the London BME sector to increase external value and respect of its work and impact

We’re the Portman Group, the UK’s self-regulatory body for alcohol marketing and we are looking for someone to provide advice and training to the alcohol industry on our marketing rules.  We have two Codes of Practice: the Naming, Packaging and Promotion of Alcoholic Drinks and the Alcohol Sponsorship Code.  Each Code outlines a set of responsible marketing rules that the alcohol industry must abide by.  Our primary purpose as a regulator is to protect those who are vulnerable, particularly those who are under-18.

No previous experience of working in the alcohol industry or marketing regulation is necessary as full training will be provided.

Details of role

· Deliver training and briefing sessions on the Codes and on alcohol social responsibility. This includes delivering sessions virtually and in person within the UK.

· Responsible for responding accurately and promptly to written requests for advice on product marketing from producers and their agencies alongside other members of the Regulatory Affairs Team.

· To raise standards of responsibility in the industry by undertaking proactive trademark searches of newly registered products and providing unsolicited advice where necessary.

· With the support of the team, provide internal and external reporting analysis of advice requests on a monthly basis.

· Monitor product innovations via social media and press publications to identify emerging trends and provide unsolicited advice where necessary.

· Support the team in drafting blogs, newsletters, industry advice pieces and an annual Regulatory Affairs Report.

· Support the team in wider regulatory communications, including distribution of content.

· To support the Regulatory Affairs team more widely by:

o Attending industry events;

o Assisting with the recruitment of new Code Signatories;

o Providing project support as required.

· To be flexibly deployed on any other work as required by the Director of Regulatory Affairs or Chief Executive, taking into account the needs of a small organisation.

Volunteers are vital to our charity, the provide over 100,000 hours of support a year to our work. As our charity’s volunteer programme has grown over the last few years, we need to increase our capacity to recruit and better support our volunteers.

This role is focus on improving the support with give to our volunteers who care for our dogs and pups in training. There we are not just looking for someone who is experienced working with volunteers and is great with people, but someone who has presentation or teaching skills. So they can talk to groups of volunteers to help them develop the skills and confidence to have a positive experience and impact when volunteering with our charity. Candidate who have a good knowledge of dogs would be a real advantage.

Recruitment of new volunteers is also a key part of this role and so we will require the post holder to manage activity to achieve this, including some occasional weekend and evening work at specific recruitment events.

About the Foundation:

The Avicenna Foundation was set up in 2023 to to support outstanding young British Muslims by providing them with scholarships for their undergraduate degree. The scholarships are mainly focused on awarding scholarships in the Social Sciences and Humanities for those interested in politics, policy-making and becoming agents of positive change.

Alongside the scholarship, the Avicenna Foundation runs a development programme for the scholars to expand their skills and abilities in various areas like leadership, communication and collaboration.

The Foundation has developed immensely in the first year with the launch of the charity; onboarding of it’s first cohort of 30 scholars and the development of a leadership programme.  It now needs propelling into the next stage as the charity develops to ensure a robust charity structure and programme in place.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations:

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the charity, and manage changes required within programmes and activities as a result of changing external landscapes or contexts.

- Implement strategies for advertising the scholarships, receiving and reviewing applications, shortlisting candidates, conducting interviews, and making final selection decisions. Some of these things are already in place and may need reviewing and enhancing.

- Work with the Scholar Development Coordinator to oversee the leadership development programme, provide guidance and help the programme to grow.

- Maintain regular communication with the scholars, their progress, and address any issues or concerns that may arise.

- Ensure programme objectives and outcomes align with the overall strategy and aims of the Foundation, and are realistic and achievable within timeframes and budgets.

- Organise any events, programmes necessary to the scholars.

- Use data to track progress and drive improvement; proactively manage risks; and ensure effective use of the Foundation’s resources and budgets allocated to you.

Governance:

- Provide leadership and guidance to achieve consistency of governance across all of the Foundation’s activities, from development, delivery, measurement and evaluation and reporting perspectives.

- Regular communication and updates to the board, prepare board papers and contribute to Trustee meetings as required.

- Create, maintain and ensure continued adoption of governance frameworks, policies and templates.

- Ensure implementation and maintenance of risk registers for the charity and across all programmes.

- Manage finances, budgeting, reporting, and record-keeping

- Prepare the Foundation’s annual report.

External Engagement

- Lead on strategic communications by developing and implementing an integrated public affairs and communication plan that are consistent with the goals and values of the Foundation.

- Building and cultivating exceptional diverse reciprocal partnerships across a wide range of stakeholder groups, grounded in delivering impact through collaboration.

- Work with educational partners to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the scholarship programme
