Working with schools, colleges, local authorities and employers, you will manage 2 PT hub co-ordinators and 2-3 PT assistants and will directly recruit, deploy, manage and support a team of 70 peer and adult volunteers. Together you and your team will support 70+ young people with special needs through a two year person-centred transition programme which works to help them move towards independence and adulthood, including work and next steps education.. Current hubs are in Luton, Bedfordand Stevenage.
You are an excellent organiser, team leader and communicator with a can do approach. You are great at forging relationships. You have experience of working with Special Needs and launching and developing projects. A key part of the role will be developing stronger links with businesses and the wider community to create opportunities for young people with special needs. From experience you also know how to work sensitively and effectively with this group - and you have the drive and ability to provide leadership and a quality response to the challenge of futher developing this project as we emerge from lockdown, including virtual as well as face to face provision.
Reporting directly to our Senior Projects Manager, you will be excited by the opportunities in a charity and a project needed more than ever. You will be determined to deliver successful outcomes for the young people we support.
