Transitions UK is an exciting and growing charity, initially working across Herts, Beds, Bucks, Birmingham and Leicestershire, specifically set up to address the needs of a “lost generation” of 15-25 year olds. We work with young people with learning disabilities, mental health & emotional issues, young people leaving care and those at risk of exploitation/offending.
We are looking to recruit an inspiring and driven Projects Director to lead our project teams, giving them all the support they need to help us towards our goal of being a national charity, with a national footprint and a national voice for young people.
You’ll be overseeing 4 different projects, employing 20 staff and deploying over 100 volunteers. These are currently located in Birmingham, Leicestershire, North London, Herts, Beds and Bucks. Each project targets support to vulnerable young people who are either, struggling with mental health issues, are leaving care, at risk of criminal exploitation, or have learning disabilities.
You will be reporting directly to our CEO and will have support from your projects team, and from our growing support function.
You are an excellent coach, organiser and communicator with a hands-on approach. From experience, you want to make a real difference and you are able to work sensitively and effectively with young people who have personal challenges and need help.
You will be excited by the opportunities in this role and growing charity, and determined to achieve excellent results for the young people we support.
