Job description

The True Colours Trust is looking for a dynamic administrator who will bring top-quality organisational and administrative skills as well as an empathetic, level-headed and positive attitude to our small staff team. Working closely with the Trust Executive, you will directly support trustees, grantees and applicants, ensuring that True Colours’ charitable purposes are delivered professionally and effectively, while also maintaining the friendly and approachable nature of the Trust.

This is a varied, fast-paced and rewarding role which provides real opportunities to learn about civil society and grant-making in the UK and Africa.

The True Colours Trust is an independent grant-maker working in the UK and Africa. Established in 2002, we work on three main areas:

· Improving access to palliative care for babies, children and young people in the UK;

· Enabling disabled children and young people to live their lives to the full;

· Improving access to pain relief and palliative care in Africa.

Our founding vision is to see a world in which everyone, wherever they live and whatever their age, is able to access good palliative care, and disabled children and young people are able to live their lives to the full.

If you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, are confident working to deadlines and are able to exercise a good degree of responsibility and initiative then we would love to hear from you. A personal interest in the charitable sector and in grant-making in the UK and Africa would be a real advantage, as would interest in the fields of disability and children’s palliative care.

You should have demonstrable experience in support roles and proven competence to deal confidently with a variety of tasks, manage competing priorities and undertake complex administration as well as familiarity with maintaining websites and social media presence.

This role is based at our offices in Victoria, London SW1V. We generally expect staff to work from the office for at least three days each week. Applicants must have the existing right to live and work in the UK.

To learn more about this role and how to apply, please see the attached Candidate Pack.
