Mental Health Resource is a local, registered charity working to improve mental wellbeing in the community through the provision of safe spaces and person-centred mental health support in our community.
Our Reachout projects provide weekly peer support groups in West Kent to adults and young people. We enable clients to share their experiences, provide tools and strategies to manage their mental health, and facilitate activities to enhance wellbeing. You will have strategic responsibility for both the Reachout adult and young people’s groups and will deliver the Reachout adult peer support groups. Groups are currently held in Southborough, Paddock Wood and Edenbridge. In addition, you will have line management responsibility for the Reachout youth groups.
The successful candidate will have solid experience managing a small team, including providing regular supervision, and have experience of delivering mental health support groups. A qualification in management, social care or counselling will be helpful.
You will need to be able to work on your own initiative and have excellent interpersonal skills. You will confidently network with external stakeholders and work effectively with clients, involving them in decision-making and encouraging them to provide feedback on services.
You will need to be able to travel independently across West Kent. The groups meet on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and the role will also involve time spent working from home or in the office. Further details about the project can be found on our website - mentalhealthresource/services.
