Job description

Unexpected illness, job loss or relationship breakdown can turn a life upside down – it can happen to any of us, and the consequence is often loss of income, loss of housing, and personal crisis. 22% of us are currently in poverty, including a shameful 33% of all children. It’s likely to affect the lives of our friends, family and colleagues: poverty is unpredictable, and poverty touches us too.

Turn2us is a national charity which focuses on alleviating poverty, helping people access welfare benefits, charitable grants and support services. It wants to stop people falling into poverty and give practical help to anyone struggling to cope so they can get back on track.

We now have a new role of Response Programme Manager which we are looking to fill to help us respond to people’s immediate financial needs as a result of Covid 19.

This role will lead on creating and implementing new grant making progrmames for individuals who are experiencing financial hardship specifically due to Covid19. It will ensure that co-production is central to the heart of all our grantmaking and work with external partners to create new grant programmes linked to Covid 19.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in designing and delivering programmes and in working in complex partnerships and matrix arrangements.   This will require a good understanding of safeguarding, equality and a passion for social justice.

Please note that this role is a fixed term contract for 12 months and will require a self disclosure of any convictions prior to interview and a DBS check.
