Tŷ Hafan is celebrating 20 years of providing high quality holistic care to life-limited children, young people and their families. The charity is now looking ahead to the next 20 years, and creating a hospice service fit for the future needs of children in Wales.
The current Director of Care is retiring after five years at the Charity, having played a key part in developing new services in the hospice whilst growing occupancy and developing the vision for the next 5 years. The next phase of the strategy is to turn the vision into reality. Working with a dynamic Executive team the next Director of Care will be engaged on a fixed term contract, whilst the care model is being reviewed, to continue the momentum of transformation to meet the future needs of ever more complex life limited children and their families.
The successful candidate will play a leading role in ensuring the continued delivery of safe, high quality innovative care. The Board of Trustees and Executive Management team take pride in the highest standards of governance and accountability. Continual improvement in risk management and quality impact evaluated services to ensure equitable and sustainable delivery, built around the children and their families, is the cornerstone of the direction of the charity. The ability to lead on family and staff engagement and to collaborate with leaders in healthcare, local government and Welsh Government, in order to develop a Wales-wide model of paediatric palliative care, is fundamental to the role.
The new director will continue the progress of the past five years, complete the clinical oversight of the implementation of electronic clinical records management, deliver the clinical management of the refurbishment, develop the quality and risk framework for the next five years, and support with the review of the care model in line with the developments within the hospice and paediatric palliative care sectors.
