Are you a creative copywriter and digital marketing specialist who can build exciting and compelling campaigns? Could you help build the profile and donor base of a fast-growing charity providing life-saving humanitarian health care?

UK-Med’s medical teams respond to health emergencies around the world and we work with teams globally to prepare for future threats. Our work has never been more vital – as the climate emergency, disease outbreaks and long crises mean the number of people in need of humanitarian assistance is growing. This year we have been at the forefront of the global COVID-19 response, working in twelve countries around the world. 

We are looking for a skilled and passionate digital marketing specialist to join our growing fundraising and communications team. With a confident and convincing writing style, you will work with our Communications and Media Manager to support our traditional media work with well-crafted and tailored social media content across Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram. You will be able to translate complicated and technical information into accessible and engaging pieces for a range of different audiences and platforms, putting the voices of our patients at the centre of our story-telling. You will have excellent IT skills and be a confident user of WordPress, MailChimp, Hootsuite, Google Analytics and Google Adwords. You will lead and optimise our website using SEO best practices and make data-led decisions to deliver our fundraising and communication strategy objectives of increased brand awareness, audience engagement and donor recruitment.

The role will also work with the Head of Fundraising and Communications to develop our Individual Giving Programme and campaigns. You will develop our supporter and member journeys, using MailChimp and our CRM Beacon to automate and segment mass communications. This will allow our small team to deliver a personal and inspiring supporter experience. You will ensure our supporters and members feel informed, appreciated and connected to the patients we serve. You will craft convincing and persuasive campaigns for recruitment, retention, uplift and reactivation to grow our regular and cash donor base. Given our work in emergency health response, experience of emergency appeal fundraising would be a distinct advantage but we are also looking for a candidate who is keen to learn and develop.

We are looking for someone creative, with an eye for a great hook, who will be able to hit the ground running in a busy team. We are looking for someone with specific experience in copy writing, digital marketing, individual giving, campaigns or a related discipline. The role will sit in the Fundraising and Communications team, reporting to the Comms and Media Manager and work closely with all departments.  

You will be adaptable, creative, collaborative and able to quickly establish effective working relationships. You’ll be an energetic and resilient professional who enjoys a fast-paced environment, is committed to UK-Med’s humanitarian mandate and takes a keen interest in global affairs. You will be goal-orientated, with the ability to set clear objectives and work independently.
