Job description

Are you a health professional and a passionate and experienced humanitarian?

UK-Med is a humanitarian health NGO providing emergency healthcare support in times of crisis and humanitarian emergencies.  We work with other agencies to coordinate the UK Emergency Medical Team (UK EMT) – a national programme deploying healthcare services to sudden onset disasters on behalf of the UK Government – as well as deploying independently or in collaboration with other humanitarian NGOs.  Now we need your help!

We are seeking a qualified nurse or doctor with at least 2 years’ experience in humanitarian health work, to join us as a Humanitarian Health Advisor.  This is a diverse role, ranging from office-based work preparing technical guidelines and training packages, to leading overseas capacity building activities and deploying with clinical teams in response to sudden onset disasters.  The successful candidate will join us at an exciting time in our development, as both UK-Med and the UK EMT programme grow in scope and ambition.

Our ideal candidate will combine their clinical expertise with humanitarian health experience and a proven track record in designing and delivering training.  You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and will be comfortable working across several projects simultaneously.

We offer a competitive salary and benefits along with a friendly working environment and the opportunity to make a real difference through your work.
