Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and organised PA to join our fast-growing team here at the UK Sepsis Trust's London Office. This is a fantastic opportunity for anybody wanting to gain experience and insight into the charity sector and make a difference to peoples' lives through their work. The role is dynamic with opportunities to get involved in all areas of the charity's operations. 

First interviews will be held on February 7th and 8th 2019.

Sepsis is the 3rd biggest killer in the UK, with 52,000 lives lost every year. UKST seek to save lives from sepsis and improve outcomes for survivors by instigating political change, educating healthcare professionals, raising public awareness and supporting those affected by this devastating condition. All of our staff are committed to the importance of this work and the possibility that, with better awareness, 14,000 lives could be saved every year. 

Applicants with any level of experience or education are encouraged. Computer literacy, strong written and verbal communication, excellent organisation and a can-do attitude are the most important attributes for any candidate. 

The role consists of two main responsibilities:

1) Providing secretarial support to the Executive Director

  • Full diary management
  • Travel co-ordination within the UK
  • Accurately minuting meetings and capturing action points
  • Acting as first point of contact for the ED; fielding and prioritising calls
  • Managing a busy inbox
  • Ensuring ED has correct materials and is fully prepared for meetings
  • Occasional travel within the UK (primarily Birmingham).

2) Providing administrative support to the London Team

  • Processing invoices and maintaining expenses spreadsheets for the department
  • Working within the CRM system to ensure that the contacts database is maintained and that data is inputted accurately and consistently (Previous experience with a CRM is desireable but not essential. Training will be provided to a successful candidate.)
  • Booking meeting rooms
  • Supporting in the planning and running of events
  • Organising internal and external events and meetings.
