Job description

Are you passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people?

Are you a forward-thinking, ambitious and self-motivated individual with an understanding of digital marketing and storytelling in the charity sector? Can you tell compelling stories in a digital environment? Your search is over!

We are looking for a digital marketing executive to join us initially until the end of March. You will join a dynamic Marketing and Communications team at a pivotal point in our 100-year history as we embark on a new strategy with big ambitions.

As a national organisation with a growing public profile, we will be doubling our efforts to drive increased investment and develop new, innovative campaigns to support local youth services who are supporting some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged young people in the UK. This work has never been more needed in the wake of a global pandemic.

To ensure we can deliver on these ambitions, finding new audiences and new ways to talk about the work of youth organisations is vital. This is an exciting time to join our amazing team in a role that offers you the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of thousands of young people.

Who we are?

You will work closely with the Marketing Manager and the Communications Manager to raise awareness of the inspiring work UK Youth does and tell the stories of young people and those who support them in the youth work sector. UK Youth is a leading charity that exists to ensure young people are equipped to thrive and empowered to contribute at every stage of their lives. As an organisation, we make certain that the youth sector is strengthened, supported, and that provision is youth-led and informed by high-quality evidence.

There are more than 11 million young people in the UK, they make up over a fifth of the population and represent Britain’s future. They are the next generation of workers and leaders of society and yet they are facing a range of significant barriers to success. Lack of investment in the youth sector, and a lack of understanding of how youth work makes a difference, leads to mass inequality of access to support for young people. For many young people their youth worker is the only person they openly talk to, and their youth club is the only space they have to develop their skills, explore their character and realise their full potential.

Working with a 7,000 strong network of youth organisations, which make up the UK Youth Movement, we are uniquely placed to strengthen the sector. This accelerates the positive impact on young people by capturing, sharing and embedding learning and evidence across all those working with young people.
