Job description

This is an exciting time to join our creative and dynamic National Programmes Team as a positive, proactive and highly efficient Programmes Coordinator. This role will initially be a fixed term contract for 1 year.

This is a busy role for a talented individual who has experience of coordinating effective projects, engaging with a wide range of stakeholders and is passionate about raising awareness of the youth sector. We are looking for someone with demonstrable experience working in a youth work setting, who is proactive and uses their initiative to find creative solutions and manage priorities. You will have excellent attention to detail, be super organised and a team player.

As the Programmes Coordinator you will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling project related activity to facilitate the delivery of a portfolio of large-scale programmes that support young people to develop the skills, knowledge and experience they need to succeed in life.

You will be a key member of the National Programmes Team working across a portfolio of our inspiring projects that give young people the skills they need to grow into confident and capable adults who lead fulfilling lives.

Our programmes tackle widespread issues and range from music and sport engagement, coding, social action, road safety, financial education and employability. Our partners and funders include Microsoft, UPS, CCEP, Spirit of 20212 and The National Lottery Community Fund.

You will be creative, proactive and have initiative and ideas. You will be organised, driven, reliable and have a positive approach to your work and have demonstrable experience in a youth work setting. You will be able to work at a high level both within UK Youth and with our charity and corporate partners, have a flexible approach to work and a willingness to work irregular hours, and be prepared to travel away from home on occasion to meet operational needs.

This is an exciting time to join our team in a role that offers you the opportunity to have a real impact on the effectiveness of the team and helping to make a difference to the lives of thousands of young people.

We are a value-based, passionate and committed organisation offering a friendly working environment with lots of opportunities for professional development and socialising with colleagues through activities such as office yoga, lunch and learn sessions and potluck lunches; as well as optional out of work social events such as bowling, tennis and baking.

This role will be located at our new Head Office in Westminster, although due to the current ongoing COVID-19 pandemic the role will initially be home-based.

UK Youth prides itself on being an Equal Opportunity employer and we would particularly welcome applications for this role from those who identify under one of the protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010, which include race, age, disability, gender, religion or belief, and sexual orientation.

We value the differences that a diverse workforce brings and are committed to inclusivity, and to employing and supporting a diverse workforce. Our selection procedures ensure that people are treated on the basis of their relevant merits, experience, skills and abilities and that no individual receives more or less favourable treatment. We can offer flexibility through the interview process and endeavour to accommodate candidate’s needs.
