We’re looking for a dynamic and creative individual, who feels passionately about protecting children in danger around the world, to join our award-winning Media Relations team.
Unicef ensures more of the world’s children are vaccinated, educated and protected than any other organisation. We have done more to influence laws and policies to help protect children than anyone else. We get things done and we’re not going to stop until the world is a safe place for all our children.
As PR Officer, you will work as a part of a team to promote a range of Unicef’s flagship fundraising campaigns such as Soccer Aid for Unicef, Water Walk and our annual star-studded Halloween Ball. You will also support public campaigning and work with a variety of corporate partners, high-profile celebrities and ambassadors to secure media coverage and raise awareness of Unicef’s life-saving work.
In our busy media team, no one day is the same. Your duties will range from drafting press materials and media plans to briefing talent and spokespeople for exclusive broadcast interviews. You’ll have the unique opportunity to attend photo shoots and high-profile events, giving you a breadth of experience in all areas of PR. You’ll also get to work with colleagues in our News & Emergencies, programmes and global teams on some of the most pressing issues affecting children around the world.
Our ideal candidate will have worked in a PR agency or media relations office at Account Manager level or above, and/or in journalism, ideally with experience of working on fast-paced and high-profile issues in order to proactively deliver high-level consumer media coverage.
