We are looking to bolster our trusts and foundations team through recruiting a Charitable Funding Manager (CFM) role that will seek to maximise philanthropic funding across the University. With a particular focus on grant writing for our most philanthropic medical research, our established student support programmes and our regular awards and applications to a range of charitable funders. A key member of DARO’s Charitable Funding team, you will work closely with colleagues across the campus, particularly the Business Engagement and Research Support teams, to achieve a financial target by proactively identifying and creating new charitable funding opportunities (with a particular focus on mid-tier Trusts, Foundations and other charities). You will work closely with academics and professional services colleagues primarily to make new applications but also to support with existing relationships and bids where appropriate.
The Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO) exists to support the academic and student community by engaging, inspiring, and celebrating alumni, individuals, and charitable funders who give their money, time, and networks to support the University’s strategic priorities. The Office, which is comprised of 60 staff across five teams, is focused on securing charitable donations and gifts of time from alumni and individuals who are passionate about changing lives, through funding various research trials, supporting student bursaries, mentoring students, and providing internships. We have just launched our new campaign. Birmingham In Action, which aims to change lives locally and globally. It is unique and ambitious and will place Birmingham as one of the leading fundraising and volunteering universities in the world.
