It's a great time to join us. We're part-way through a journey towards being a more effective and more relevant students' union which truly represents and supports our hyper-diverse membership. We're seeking two advisers: one full-time and one part-time (four days).
As an adviser, you will be there to provide impartial and confidential advice to students on a range of issues including academic and housing matters and complaints. This may take place by phone, email, online or face to face.
You will often be working with students who are facing difficult and complex situations and problems. You will need to respond sensitively and compassionately to students who are anxious and upset.
We are looking for individuals who can support students in university meetings and panels to advocate on their behalf. You will need to be a strong communicator who can clearly explain issues and solutions to a range of stakeholders such as students and university staff.
As the Students' Union develops its offering to students, you will also support work to inform changes to University regulations, policies, procedures and practices to the benefit of the students.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
