Senior Development Manager – Europe

Wellington Square, Oxford OX1 2J and London

Competitive salary and benefits

Permanent, Full-Time

The University of Oxford has been successful in raising donations from a broad range of donors, including alumni; non-alumni; foundations and trusts; and corporations. The support for the future of Oxford is world-wide, and 50% of the income comes from overseas. We are now seeking an experienced Senior Development Manager to support our fundraising work across Europe.

To be successful in this role you will be an experienced fundraiser with an impressive track record in building strong relationships with prospects and donors, in the UK and/or internationally, and in securing significant major gifts at the six or seven figure level.

A graduate or equivalent, you will be tenacious, ambitious, self-reliant and adept at developing excellent relationships with senior University officers, academics and colleagues.  Confident and credible at a senior level, you will be experienced in the identification and cultivation of major prospects and experienced in developing significant philanthropic relationships.  Your background is likely to be in higher education or the not-for-profit sectors and you must be able to work well under pressure in a complex, multi-national and culturally diverse environment.  Fluency in German, both written and spoken, is desirable but not essential.

This role will require regular travel across Europe.  Flexible working including working from London will be considered.
