Job description

UnLtd is the leading provider of support to social entrepreneurs in the UK and offers the largest such network in the world. Our mission is to find social entrepreneurs with bold solutions to today’s challenges. Through funding and support, we help them to realise their potential and creating lasting change.

UnLtd values diversity and is committed to inclusion and understanding intersectionality. These are more than just buzz words for us; they are principles guiding how we build our teams, support leaders and empower social entrepreneurs. We want to create an organisation that’s the right fit for everyone we work with.

To support an inclusive environment where employees feel empowered to share their lived experiences and ideas, we have embedded an equity and inclusion group within UnLtd, giving us a wide range of different perspectives in our work to help us see what is most needed in society.  We are particularly keen to hear from those who identify as Black, Asian or minority ethnic, LGBTQIA, those with a disability, impairment, learning difference, those with caring responsibilities, from a less advantaged socioeconomic background as well as any other under-represented group in our workforce.

Due to Covid-19, this is initially an agile role so you can be based anywhere in the UK. As we start to re-open our offices for staff, you are welcome to use one of the UnLtd office hubs in London, Bradford or Birmingham, or a satellite office in Scotland or Northern Ireland. We welcome applications from anywhere across the UK and are open to discuss flexible working, including working from home.

About the role:

We are a vibrant, ambitious and complex organisation, keen to continuously learn and grow so that we can better support social entrepreneurs. In doing so, we want to better align our work around the needs of our Social Entrepreneurs to help them maximise their impact. We know we cannot do that alone. We need to work with a host of funders, philanthropists, partners and supporters to help us achieve our ambitions for change. Now more than ever, we need to be working closely with and leveraging the full range of benefits that each partner can bring (be that money, expertise, networks etc.).

In recent years we have shifted away from being programmatic and reactive to funder priorities, becoming an organisation that has a clear vision for change where we work with a select group of strategic partners and funders to jointly deliver these ambitions. This role will play a key role in the further advancement of this approach.

Working closely with the Director of Delivery & Investment and the CEO, you will lead on the future income generation of the organisation, as well as driving all major strategic partnerships to ensure we are maximizing these opportunities to deliver significant impact.

You will head up the business development team for UnLtd. This will encompass corporates, trusts and foundations, major donors, and other strategic funding partners. This will be with the explicit aim of enabling UnLtd to create a more equitable, inclusive and sustainable society by providing the most impactful social entrepreneurs with market leading support. You will also be the main architect, driver, and steward for all high value partner relationships. You will have a strong background in designing, securing and delivering £1m+ partnerships and a passion for the role social entrepreneurs can play in our society.

Closing Date: 2nd August 2021

First round of interviews: 12th August 2021

Final interviews: 17th August 2021

We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

UnLtd is committed to offering employment opportunities for people with criminal convictions. As a result, we will only ask you about any criminal convictions at initial offer stage. Your information will be treated fairly and confidentially and will not automatically exclude you from the role that you have applied for.
