We are seeking a knowledgeable individual to oversee the Fundraising Development Manager position for a fixed-term, covering maternity leave. The successful applicant will have some professional experience of fundraising and/or education development, together with experience of developing good working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

About the role:
We are recruiting a Volunteer Manager. You will be responsible for recruiting, supporting and developing our team of volunteers who support people affected by crime across Essex. Our volunteers are a valued and vital part of the service. This role will be supporting our existing volunteers and developing the team to increase capacity and representation from across the community in Essex.
This role is are based in our Essex office in Ingatestone. There may be an option to split the work between home and the office. You will be working within a supportive team that is part of a large independent charity which offers the opportunity to develop skills to enhance your ongoing personal development. Working pattern will be agreed with the successful applicant with the hours of this role to be split over 3 days a week.

We are looking for a Payroll Officer to take responsibility for key financial duties including payroll processing and pension administration. This role would give you the opportunity to gain experience carrying out essential financial processes for the charity. All this is vital for our vision to be a catalyst for the Church sharing the good news of Jesus Christ in all its fullness among East Asia’s people through all aspects of life.
In order to be successful, ideal candidates will have previous experience of using a payroll system, preferably SAGE. You will have experience of at least one finance system. You will be a confident communicator as you will be engaging with various stakeholders.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Payroll (using Sage)
· Maintain the payrolls for Members, Retirees and Staff and create the PAYE payments.
· Generate the net pay file for payment for each payroll.
· Generate the journal for each payroll in a timely fashion each month.
Pensions
· Complete the monthly calculation for each of the three pensions schemes.
· Upload the monthly pension journal for each pension scheme each month.
Credit Card
· Enter credit card transactions into the accounting system.
· Reconcile to monthly credit card statements.
Creation Care
· Collate records of all travel by road, rail and air for each calendar year.
· Collate other records of consumption of energy as required.
Donations
· Process cheque donations
· Process credit and debit card donations
Other responsibilities
· Generate and input into Dream the necessary journal entries, with appropriate supporting documentation, when necessary for any of the above tasks.
· Attend National Office prayers (daily), devotions and team meetings as scheduled.
Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as specified by your line manager.
Terms of Appointment
· Salary £25,000-£27,000 per annum pro rata (£12,500-£13,500 0.5 FTE) commensurate with experience
· Non-contributory pension of 8% of salary on completion of probationary period and backdated to start date
· Paid annual leave entitlement of 25 days pro rata, in addition to public holidays pro rata
· This role is based at our National Office (with some hybrid and flexible working possible in line with our flexible working policy). The National Office is currently located in Borough Green, Kent. It is anticipated that our National Office will move locations within the next 1-2 years. There will be full discussion with all staff about the future location and modes of working at the appropriate time.

In this role, you will:
- Respond to a variety of enquiries from individuals affected by terminal illness, as well as their families, friends, or professionals. These inquiries may range from practical matters concerning finances or legal arrangements to accessing Marie Curie services, as well as emotional concerns such as grief and loss.
- Utilise the resources available through the Marie Curie Information and Support Service, along with other trusted sources primarily online, you will address inquiries, gather information, and direct individuals to the support they require. This may involve communication via phone, web chat, and other channels, as well as moderating our online community and undertaking additional project work to enhance our service.
- Apply relevant safeguarding procedures when required, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the individuals contacting the helpline.
- Accurately record information into the database, ensuring data quality and date protection guidelines.
What we are looking for:
- You need to have excellent communication skills, a warm heart and a caring and compassionate soul.
- A genuine interest in helping others, you are patient, adaptable and know how to deliver an excellent customer experience.
- This role can be challenging at times, if you are patient, resilient and a great listener, you will excel in this role.
- Whilst this role will see you spend a considerable amount of time on the phone, there is also an administrative element, so a background in office administration would certainly be beneficial.
- Ideally you will come from a charity, health or social care background or have demonstrable customer service experience from another industry (such as a contact centre)
- Experience in a customer care / helpline or telephone support role is beneficial.

About the role:
This role will work across Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent, but will be based in our Stafford office. Hybrid working is considered following probationary period. Travel across the whole of Staffordshire will be required.
As an IDVA you will be asked to:
- Provide a pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic abuse through on-going risk assessment, individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
- Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse
- Specialise in working with Child to Parent abuse and delivering bespoke services - promoting the service and raising awareness of issues arising, minimising barriers and improving access to support
You will need:
- experience of providing support those affected by domestic abuse
- experience of undertaking need and risk assessments and creating safety plans
- experience of the MARAC and other partnership processes
- experience of multi agency working
